We sincerely congratulate the fifth anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kosovo with which Turkey maintains very close relations in the Balkans, and share the happiness of the friendly and brotherly people of Kosovo.

Kosovo achieved important progress in founding the fundamental state institutions and in establishing democracy and legal system during the past five years. The ending of international supervision in September 2012 is the most concrete evidence of the progress made by Kosovo.

We commend Kosovo’s efforts to integrate with the European and the Euro-Atlantic institutions as a respectable member of the international community, support the dialogue process between Pristina and Belgrade and believe that Kosovo’s presence is the guarantee of lasting peace and stability in the Balkans.
