Press Release Regarding the Terrorist Attack Perpetrated Against Police Academy in Kabul

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 09.08.2015

No: 227, 9 August 2015

We have learned with great sorrow that approximately 20 people lost their lives and more than 20 people were injured in the terrorist attack perpetrated against Police Academy in Kabul. We condemn this attack targeting the efforts to establish stability in Afghanistan as well as the attacks committed against a military unit and the US soldiers.

We convey our condolences to the Afghan Government and brotherly Afghan people. We ask for God’s mercy for the deceased and wish speedy recovery for the wounded.

It is regrettable that at a time when the Peace and Reconciliation Process was launched, the police cadets who are willing to assume responsibility so that their country has a secure and stable future were targeted. We are confident that such attacks against peace efforts will not weaken the faith of the Government and people of Afghanistan for their future, and we emphasize once again that Turkey will maintain its support to Afghanistan in every field.
